How does it work?
Figo has made it easy. After your pet's injury or illness is treated by a licensed veterinarian, simply snap a photo of the bill and upload it to your Figo Pet Cloud. You can expect to receive reimbursement in an average of seven days.
What does it cover?
With Figo's plans averaging less than $1.50 per day, you can enjoy the peace of mind in knowing your pet will always receive the care they deserve. If your pet has an illness or injury and it is not a pre-existing condition, you're covered. That includes:
- Veterinary exam fees
- Illness or injury
- Prescriptions
- Accidents
- Emergency and hospitalization
- Surgeries
- Hip dysplasia
- X-Rays, MRIs, CAT scans and ultrasounds
Pre-existing conditions, preventative care, spaying and neutering, pregnancy and cloning procedures are not covered.
What you need to know
We know pet insurance can be confusing, but it shouldn't have to be. Figo designed its plans to be straightforward and simple so you can spend less time choosing and more time with your pet. Here are a few basics to keep in mind about Figo Pet Insurance plans.
Veterinary Exam Fees
This one is important. Believe it or not, some carriers won't pay your veterinary examination fee related to a covered illness or injury. Figo does.
Pre-Existing Conditions
As with all pet insurance companies, Figo excludes pre-existing conditions. This means a condition that first occurred or showed clinical signs before your pet's coverage started, including waiting periods.
Co-Pay and Reimbursement
These can be confusing. The co-pay is the amount you pay, and the reimbursement is the amount Figo pays. You can choose from various reimbursements: 70 percent, 80 percent, 90 percent and 100 percent.
Annual Deductible
Some companies require you to pay a deductible for each new illness or injury that occurs. They call it "Per Condition." With Figo, your deductibles are for the entire year of your coverage. You meet your deductible; you're done.
Waiting Periods
These vary widely between companies. Figo requires a 14-day waiting period for illnesses. But Figo knows things happen -- that's why Figo only requires a 5-day waiting period for accidents. The waiting period begins the day you buy coverage.
